Preserve the selected labels
For the selected comparison, we retain Mustela 40 mL, Aveeno 532 mL and Aquaphor 50 g as printed or selected label quantities. Their US declarations remain beside them. This keeps a reader from silently switching denominator sources to make one offer appear cheaper.
A volume rounding example
Mathematically, 1.35 USfl oz is about 39.9243 mL using 29.5735295625 mL per USfluid ounce. Mustela prints 40 mL on the selected tube. That small difference is ordinary declaration rounding, not evidence that a delivered tube is short. We have not measured its contents or established a manufacturing tolerance.
A mass rounding example
Similarly, 1.75 ounces of mass converts to about 49.6117 g using 28.349523125 g per ounce. The selected Aquaphor tube prints 50 g. Use the printed 50 g for the observed price denominator and retain the original NET WT statement. Do not use the fluid-ounce factor for that mass conversion.
Keep the source route visible
If you choose a mathematical conversion instead of the printed metric declaration, label which route was used and apply it consistently. The extra decimal places are arithmetic precision, not a laboratory finding. A package comparison cannot establish how much to apply to a baby or how long a container will last.
Preserve printed 532 mL
Eighteen USfluid ounces converts mathematically to about 532.3235 mL. The selected label record prints 532 mL. Using the printed metric amount is transparent for the observed unit-price comparison. The arithmetic alternative should be labeled as such and should not be used selectively to manufacture a saving against another rounded package declaration.
A rounding difference is not a content test
We have not emptied, weighed or measured the selected containers. Catalog rounding cannot establish that a delivered package is short or overfilled. If an actual quantity discrepancy arises, it needs the exact package and relevant maker or seller process rather than an inference from two rounded label units.
Before you decide
- Keep exact selected product, size and source date
- Separate label facts, source conflicts and individual questions
- Use actual package instructions; shopping tools supply no personal regimen
